Energeco has recently completed the execution of the Front End Engineering Design “Terminal Oceanic of Barra do Dande Project” for a Petroleum Product Depot in Angola.
The Owner, Sonangol, intends to realize terminal located at Barra Do Dande, able to receive, store and dispatch petroleum products (Gasoline, Kerosene, Jet A1, Jet B, Gas Oil, Fuel Oil and LPG). The project is focused on four main objectives:
• to construct and operate a marine infrastructure which accommodates the transfer of hydrocarbons into and out of tankers, respectively;
• to construct and operate a tank farm which contains a relevant number of atmospheric storage tanks, LPG mounded vessels and refrigerated LPG tanks; the total final inventory will be as high as 1,870,000 m3;
• to construct and operate a pipeline pumping station and other facilities located inside the existing Luanda Refinery ;
• to construct and operate a number of pipelines, connecting the Tank Farm with: new marine terminal, existing Luanda Refinery, existing airport, the Km 44 depot, Sequele cement factory and Sequele Fuel oil storage, heating and boosting station;
• to construct and operate a depot of products at km 44
• to construct and operate a number of pipelines, connecting the Km 44 depot with: railway loading station, new airport and Bom Jesus cement factory;
The new infrastructure will be capable of handling a large proportion of the hydrocarbons demand of Luanda city and other localities in the south of Angola. The products are dispatched as “bulk” (by trucks, rail cars and pipelines) or as “packed” (drums, bottles).
