Verification study of King Abdullah International Airport at Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Friday, November 8 2013

Energeco has completed an assessment / verification study  for Al Aswad Trading and Construction Est., a company working in the construction of King Abdullah International Airport at Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The study was requested to verify the correctness and adequacy of the hydraulic design of the Jet Fuel supply pipeline to the Airport, and of the Hydrant distribution network used to supply fuel to the aircrafts, with special regard to maximum pressure increase during transient operations.

The study has confirmed the full compliance of the design with the requirements of applicable Codes and Standards, and has produced some recommendations for the adjustment of the closure time of a few valve, in order to limit the pressure rise during valve closure.

Also the basic design was defined for two optional surge relief  systems, to be implemented if a further reduction of surge pressure was required.
