Refrigerated storage of LPG
Energeco shall provide technological support services to Kinetics Technology S.p.A. for the review and validation of the Basic Engineering Design developed by an international client for propane and butane refrigerated storage and dispatch facilities.
The product storage facilities consist in atmospheric refrigerated tanks with operating temperatures of -40°C and -10°C. The project scope includes the definition of the Boil Off Gas (BOG) recovery, recompression and condensation.
A critical issue is the definition of the cool-down procedure for the transfer lines to the marine loading facilities on a jetty about 20 km form the storage tanks. The length of the transfer lines requires a controlled progressive increase of the cold product circulation rate, in order to cool down the lines while avoiding an overloading of the BOG recovery system.
