Condominium Complex for Upgraders
Energeco completed the cooperation with Technip Italy for the Basic Engineering Design of the Petrocarabobo Condominium Complex for PDV SA (Venezuela). A team of Energeco’s engineers, in staff at Technip Italy headquarters, has developed the basic design for the Utilities and Offsites intended to support the operation of three Upgraders (plants that process the heavy Venezuelan crude to convert it to a synthetic crude meeting market specifications).
A major issue was the definition of the capacities of single units and equipment in order to guarantee adequate flexibility and be able to supply utilities to a single upgrader or to the three upgraders at the same time. A “Modular” type of design has been selected to meet the flexibility requirements.
The work has been developed in a consortium comprising Technip Italy, HQC (China) and PDVSA I&C (Venezuela).
